Janusz Dabrowski
Prof. Janusz Dabrowski completed his master's degree in biological chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of Jagiellonian University, and then in 2009 he successfully defended with honors his PhD prepared with collaboration with Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology. Between 2010 and 2012, he completed a long-term research training at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Since 2018, he has been an independent researcher at the Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University (habilitation work was awarded by the Prime Minister and the Polish Chemical Society), and in 2019 he was promoted to associate professor. He is currently employed as a professor of the Jagiellonian University.
His major research directions: i) preparation, physicochemical characterization and study of biological activity of novel photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy; ii) PDT combined with PD-1/PD-L1 blockade immunotherapy, iii) nanostructured materials in anticancer and antimicrobial therapies.
